Put your expertise to work. Share your passion for our industry, science and innovative healthcare solutions with students to inspire the next generation. Be the catalyst for young people to explore how science powers us, and the best part is you do not need to be an expert in STEM to make an impact. The tools below provide everything you need to successfully connect with today’s students.
Escape the Pandemic
Help students learn how scientists race around the clock to find a cure for a flu pandemic in this Escape Room activity. Through this real-world scenario, students will see how a virus spreads from person to person around the world and has the power to affect a very large number of people. By the end, students will discover the health risks of influenzas and various ways to stop the spread of disease.
Employee Volunteer Guide
From setting up your classroom visit to making the most of your volunteering experience, this guide provides volunteers with everything you need to make health come to life through the lens of STEM.
Getting to Know Generation Health: The Science of Us
Volunteers are encouraged to watch this webinar for additional details on how to facilitate a successful and interactive classroom visit.
Augment Your Reality About Cancer
Students will visit Augmented Reality discovery stations in teams to investigate lung cancer. AR discovery stations will include comparing normal and cancer cells, investigating the causes of lung cancer, comparing the types of lung cancer, exploring the stages of lung cancer, identifying how students can reduce their risk, and identifying current treatment methods.
Go with The Flow
Students will work together to learn about the anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system by creating a simple working model of the heart. They’ll investigate various conditions that raise the risk of cardiovascular disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes – ultimately brainstorming research strategies and lifestyle choices to reduce their risk.
